Aroma hints of toasted malt, caramel, mild fruit, wood and some spice. The initial taste was malty, but a tangy hop undertone balanced the beer and cleaned the palate. Smooth yet lively mouthfeel. Medium-bodied. A good vienna styled beer, quaffable. gws57 (1138), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 19, 2003 Had this on draught at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is at least as good as any amber ale I've had. Beautiful rich dark amber color, minimal head and nose of roasted hops, smooth and very, dangerously, drinkable. grant (792), Colorado Springs, CO, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 18, 2003 Updated: Jul 21, 2003Upon first sip, gives off an ordinary-ish vienna vibe. The malts start out sweet and spry, but end up with a fiery taste of dragonfruit and a little blood (ferric). Aroma is tarnished darker malts, and a hint of your best tie getting caught in your Eureka upright vacuum cleaner, conservative yet smoking and organic. Perhaps a little bitter for style, but I won't complain. Very, very sharp on the palte. Save for the hint of iron, this is a nice, quaffable lager. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 25, 2003 Color of an average amber, orangey glow with a nice light frothy head that fizzles to lay around the top. Good smell of malt with a spice lightness of fresh hops. Tastes pretty good, sure had me fooled, I was expecting a watery version but it was pretty solid. Well balanced hop and malt flavors that settle into a teriffic solid pine finish with out being to strong or bitter. Good body, had nice little tingle in the mouth. The malt was pleasing. Very drinkable solid offering. celogan (190), Oroville, California, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 19, 2003 Dissapointing. Sweet and malty, good carbonation. Not enough hops. Poured nice dark golden color with good head which soon evaporated, but had nice lacing. I wouldn't turn it down if offered, but I won't seek it out again. AustinMilbarge (681), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 15, 2003 This was pretty tasty when I had it at a BBQ outside on a hot day looking up the street to the Capital building in Madison this past weekend. Sweet malty aroma. Carmel character in the flavor. Fairly tasty. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2003 Candied malt and caramel aroma, hazy amber/peach colour, with a medium custard head. Hoppy, citrus taste, as well as malt. Well balanced, nice example.
