Commercial Description:
Loosely based on Vienna style, Wisconsin Amber is a rich, malty lager balanced out with mild hop bittering and enticing hop flavor. Very fulfilling. Very drinkable.

7/14/2008: Wisconsin Amber pours a nice, orangy-amber color with a creamy, mostly lasting beige head that creates good lacing on the glass. The carbonation is lazy and contributes to smoothness and creaminess of the medium body. The aroma and flavor both have a pronounced citrus/candy orange quality. The toffee-flavored maltiness works well with the mild bitterness. Again, this is a quite impressive amber ale and better than expected. It is very different in flavor to the Keweenaw Red Jacket Amber Ale that I had just prior to cracking open this can of Capital Wisconsin Amber, but it is still just as good for different reasons. It could site down with a case of either and enjoy the beer quite thoroughly from the first can to the last!

12 fluid ounce can from buckybeer. Thanks Mark! Rating #206 for this beer...

Summary: Tasty malty lager, but marred by a number of off-flavors. Aroma: Sweet malts, slightly grassy. Appearance: Clear amber, a finger of off-white head, spotty lacing. Flavor: Nice malty backbone, a little caramel, a little sweet malt syrup. Grassy hops. Marred by mild oxidation and a bit of detergent in the finish. Palate: Smooth and caramelly, but very drinkable.

On tap. Pours an amber color with a medium frothy head that leaves a bit of lacing. Aroma is caramel malts and a bit of hop spice. Taste is caramel malt, toffee, with a spicy hop finish. An easy-drinker.

Draft. Pours amber with a white head. Aroma is malty with a touch of hops. Flavor is sweet and caramel malts with some light hops. Pretty mild but a decent session beer.

Clear copper color with orange tinted foam. Caramel aroma. Flavor offers plenty of unmalted barley along with toffee and fruit. Hops increase as the beer warms as do spices. Dry bitterness. Enjoyable and easy to drink. Nice beer.

Bottle poured to glass. Orangish, amber with off wite head. Smellso of oranges, yeast and malt. Creamy mouthfeel Great malty flavor and subtle grapefruity hops bitter
