| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2008 Tap at the downtown location. Deep amber (duh) colour. Aroma is quite malty with lots of sweet caramel and toasted malts. There is an interesting herbal/spicy hop aroma that seems like an unusual mixture of UK and German hops. It’s kind of strange and a bit too sweet. As it warms the hops pick up a bit to counter this a bit better. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 11, 2008 I enjoyed this one the most. Some serious malt flavors. Caramel/toffee very prominent. Some minor hops, a little citrus. I really enjoyed it. Cletus (5056), Connecticut, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 19, 2008 Pours clear copper color with a 1 inch head that lasts way longer than you do. I have never seen one hang around this long. Awesome! Clean balanced malt aroma, but weak overall. Smooth, heavy malt flavor. Crisp hop finish. Excellent lacing. Milk-like texture. Just a beer mild in most areas, but full bodied and full flavored. GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Draft at the brewpub (downtown location). Poured a clear amber color with an off white head that left some lace behind. Attractive aroma of citrusy hops and some toffee. Slightly sweet on the tongue with mild hop bitterness that peaked at about 3 out of 10. Well balanced malt and hop flavors including toffee, caramel, and citrus fruits. Nice beer. Taste is woody grapefruit with earthy notes. Green grass finish. nimbleprop (922), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2008 I had a version of this beer that was dry hopped and cask conditioned and you wouldn’t believe the difference. That said, I asked the brewers at the Shirlington location what they dry hopped with and they told me Cascade oil. I guess that counts as dry hopping. Pours a translucent, amber brown with a creamy white head and no carbonation. Aroma is heavy on the pine and lemons with a hint of biscuit. Flavor had plenty of fruit, lemons and the dry hopping really brought out the biscuit flavors of the beer. Finish was dry and a little boozy. Much better than the standard amber waves on tap. badnloose (99), North Hollywood, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Tap @ Shirlington. Clearish copper, not particularly amber (could have been the lighting). Aroma of hops and very light citrus. Hoppy bite, but rather clean finish.
