Draft @ Capitol City downtown Amber color, light head, lots of lacing. Nose of citrusy hop and sweet caramel. The flavor is chewy, rich, balanced. I like the clinging hop bite in the tail. Caramelly.

An amber beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet fruity - peaches is the strongest, combined with light notes of hops. The flavor is sweet malty with a good fruitiness, as well as hints of caramel, leading to a short bitter and citrusy end.

I had this beer on-tap tonight at the Stoudt’s Microbrewery Festival. It was the first beer of the night after a long wait to get in and I just wanted something to take to the food table with me before starting the night off. What a surprise! It’s really hoppy. More like Rogue St. Red than I expected. I wonder if this beer is bottled. The tap handle had a busty woman with amber red locks of hair flowing over her bosom. Reminded me of Wailing Wench. Appearance: Served brilliant bold amber red with creamy white head and decent lacing. Smell: Very hoppy in the nose. Though dominated by a floral aroma the caramel malt follows in suit. Taste: Smooth creamy caramel malts teeter-totter with the bitterness scratched into your cheeks. The best part is the sting in the aftertaste and the lingering bitterness; went nicely with the German food. Mouthfeel: medium body but active feeling due to the bitterness and the carbonation. Drinkability: This would be a sessioner if you like ’em bitter but after a couple I would want to keep up to this one Certainly worth trying. Well done Capital City. Hope this is helpful. Chers!

Ruby gold body with a light white head. Nice citrus aroma, grapefruit and hops. Rought taste however, sweet and fruity, just not balanced.

This was one of the best suprises of the Richbrau Beer Festival. The modest bitterness was like an APA and so well balanced. I learned much about this brewpub in the DC area. They will be doing some promotion at The Capital Ale house. The medium body with a floral aroma. I will look to see this one again.

On tap, Downtown location, 2006 RBSG pubcrawl. Pours a clear amber with a small film of off-white head. Minimal visible carbonation. Aroma is fruity with sweet malt and some citrus hoppiness. Flavor is a little thin and lacking in excitment. Lightly sweet malt with a short bitter finish. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with moderate soft carbonation and a slightly creamy texture. Overall, a decent session beer, not over the top, but pretty solid for an Amber.

Decent tinny hop nose, juicy citrus and pine sap scents. Crisp, tinny, syrupy, with moderate bitterness, and moderately sweet, with flavors of sappy pine and wood. Also a bit of a plant stem flavor noticed. Drinkable, yes, hoppier than most, and outside of the normal style guidelines. Tastes like columbus or chinook hops. Sampled at Capitol City in Baltimore.
