Aroma of sweet biscuity Belgian malt with a touch of clove and lemon citrus. Starts with good fullness and semi-sweet wheaty pale maltiness with an authentic blend of clove and citrus spice before a drier crisp finish. A pretty good saison. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 3, 2003 Copper colour with a thin off-white head. No visible bubles/carbonation. Aroma of blueberries, yeast, coriander seed, curacao and wheat. Medium-bodied; Sweet initial flavour with coriander seed most prevalent. Aftertaste shows some sweetness, but mostly yeastie/witbier qualities. Overall, an actually good representation of the style-lacking only the complexities of a true belgie, but definately respectable from the Americans! I was really lucky to try this one! My sisters fiance provided me with a growler straight from the brewery at the Shirlington (Arlington), Virginia location from which I sampled it on 28-November-2003. eaglefan538 (2403), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 11, 2006 A weak example of the style, poured amber colored with a very small head that didn’t lace well. The aroma was mostly of caramel, not much farmhouse funk in this one. The flavor was built on a backbone of caramel malt and had hardly any peppery spice going on. A forgettable experience, but not terrible. radagast83 (1317), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 16, 2009 On tap at the downtown brewpub. Pours a cloudy light yellow with a thin white head. No lacing or retention. Aroma is a bit skunky pale malt along with cloves, bananas, bubblegum, pineapple. Taste is very similar to a cross between a hefeweizen and abbey tripel: a bit creamy on the palate with lots of wheat, bananas, coriander, nutmeg, cloves, canned pineapple, light candied fruits, white sugar. Watery body and finish. Not a saison in my opinion though: no yeasty, funky notes. Too much like a witbier. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA
