Flavor was hops and a little bit of biscuit dough. Palate was a little thin, but a Kolsch is not a style you really want to chew on. Could see having a couple of pints of this and not being unhappy. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 1, 2008 GABF 2008. Clear pale golden. Grainy, with a faint apple and pear accent. Palate is thin and watery, pale malts with a hint of orchard fruit. Not a very convincing kolsch. BREWMUSKCLES (1088), New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 4, 2008 i found this to be quite a flavorful kolsch indeed. ginger ale in appearance without the soda like carbonation it was pure grains and fragrant with a typical German type hop profile. certainly one of the better ones i have tried. pure and pungent mash aroma of barley and wet straw. quite substantive of character and just a residual fruit flavor. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 14, 2008 A refreshing beer for an afternoon pick-me-up after tromping around DC on a summer’s day. The beer was too sweet and lacked the sharpness for a Kolsch. gsmitty80 (653), Washington DC, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 21, 2008 Poured very straw with some hazing. Aroma was of wet grain and a slight bit of malt. Taste was very bland and univiting but it was recognizably a kolsch. The finish was unpleasant and lingering good thing the turkey chili i had with it was tasty. Has a mild nutty fruitiness in the aroma and the sweetness of the flavor. Has a tingling feel on the palate that finishes with a mild dry hoppiness. Refreshing! JoeinUccle (911), Brussels, Belgium
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Draft on the Hill. Pale gold with tight white head. Grainy and nutty beer aromatically, very fresh bready flavor, light and refreshing. Quaffable quencher, not bad at all. puzzl (2649), New York, New York, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 19, 2008 Kolsch? Are you kidding me? This isn’t even close, and the name is an insult to the style. I can *still* taste the lingering metal finish even though this has been out of my mouth for two weeks. Like biting aluminum foil or licking a 9-volt battery. A pissy, corny disaster.
