Commercial Description:
This lager like ale is modeled after the official beer of Köln, Germany. Kolsch is delicate and refreshing with a slight fruitiness and supportive, yet unobtrusive hop bitterness

My first ever DC beer. A light yellow beer with a thin lazing white head. The aroma has strong notes of lemon, which makes it nicely fresh. And the flavor is also a fresh lemony on a light malted back ground, and with a thin body. I find it very German in the interpretation. It is very easily drinkable after having wandered around DC in 30 degrees Centigrade and 85% humidity.

I am a frequent visitor to this pub and I enjoy the Kolsch. This beer starts very clean with a nice malt dryness and finishes with earthy hop notes. I have never tasted diacetyl in any of the beers at cap city bmore and especially not this one. I would recommend this beer to anyone who wants a refreshing and tasty brew.

On tap, Downtown location, 2006 RBSG pubcrawl. Pours a pale yellow with a small fizzy white head. Moderate visible carbonation. Aroma is lightly bready malt and some light grassy hops. Flavor is quite bitter with some crackery malt and a crisp finish with some light fruitiness. Mouthfeel is thin and watery with fizzy prickly carbonation. Overall, this was not bad, fairly crisp and biting.

First taste is buttered infection, giving way to a corn and tin flavor with light grassy notes. The color is extra pale yellow. The nose is almost strictly diacetyl. Overall a very poor kolsch, and a very poor beer also. Silky and buttery palate. While "true" kolsch is nothing to get excited about, this one is really nothing close to true kolsch. Sampled at Capitol City in Baltimore.

A very pale yellow with a bone white head. the aroma is lightly hoppy, almost minty. The flavor has a crisp dry maltiness and a good tingly hop finish. This is a pretty tasty little starter beer.

At Cap City, Capitol Hill location. Pours very light, pale golden with a white head. Some grain and hay in the nose. Flavor is very very light. Notes of grain, hay, lemon then ends watery. Light bitterness. Light body, watery texture and moderate carbonation.

Very weak! Almost colorless with very little aroma and a dirty water aftertaste. Good thing it was part of a sampler so I only had to suffer through a few oz.
