Commercial Description:
This lager like ale is modeled after the official beer of Köln, Germany. Kolsch is delicate and refreshing with a slight fruitiness and supportive, yet unobtrusive hop bitterness

This one exceeded my expectations. Nice light golden color with excellent lacing. Very smooth with a light grassy and floral hoppy presence that was super well balanced with the malty base. Very drinkable.

(02.03.06) On tap at Capitol City brewpub (Capitol Hill), Washington, D.C. Clear straw colored ale having a small white head. Soft carbonation. Corn/malt aroma. Medium bodied beer that starts with light malt sweetness and notable hop flavor. Finishes dry with light corn flavor and light hop bitterness. Very nice flavor and texture. A very good drinkable beer.

Capitol Hill brewpub. Clear, pale straw body with mild carbonation and a pure snowy white head. Aroma is of nutty, pils malt and fresh wheat with grassy notes. Lightly sweet wheat and biscuit flavor with some crisp, drying bitterness. Hops are evident. Clean, decent, and easy-drinking. Good brewpub kolsch in that it does have some character and has no off qualities.

Light amber color, and light aromas. Some lemon and cereal grains -- but not much else on the nose. The body of the beer is similarly light -- it is also harsh and overcarbonated. Tastes are unfinished and muddled barley, plain hops and club soda. Not this brewer’s best.
