decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Jul 11, 2009 A brown pour with off white head and lace. Hopiness and light caramel malt on the nose. Light medium caramel flavor with a nice finishing bitter. A tad thin but very decent beer. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 18, 2009 @Pilsner Petes East Coast Gathering-growler–pours a light tan head that bubbles and hazy amber color. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jun 7, 2009 Growler at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Deep amber pour with a fairly creamy white head. Aroma is pretty nice. Bright fresh grapefruit and a light touch of pine over a big sweet cookie dough malt base. Cascadey with a bit of iced tea character, that a lot of people hate, but I actually enjoy. Soft spice behind the citrus with a light earthy malt finish. It gets a little bit astringent, but it still tastes pretty good. LilBeerDoctor (1479), East Setauket, New York, USA Jun 4, 2009 Growler at PPRBSG09. Pours a clear brown with a small head. Aroma of iced tea and some roasted malts. Flavor is very sweet and malty with a watery palate. Meh, not a fan.
6/4/6/3/12 (3.1/5) yobdoog (1417), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Jun 1, 2009 Dark amber brown with a small head. Aroma and taste is floral grassy hops and some caramel sweetness. A little dry bitter finish. Not bad. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Jun 1, 2009 Growler: Amber pour with a wispy tan head. Nice fruity hop aroma- amarillo character of tropical fruit notes of peach. Creamy & crisp feeling. Flavor is a bit husky- some peachy hop flavors mesh with resiny bitterness and lychee. Pretty nice overall, minus the heavy huskiness in the flavor. nimbleprop (819), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA Jun 1, 2009 Had a few pints and then a growler of this from the Shirlington location where it’s called Double D. Came in a 10oz goblet, translucent, hazy, amber brown with a frothy, lacing white head. Aroma is citrus fruits, some light pine, with some sweetness and a little bit of cookie. Flavor was well balanced, plenty of sweetness, caramel, breads with a good hop kick, lemons, oranges, grass, pine. Finish was moderately bitter and full bodied. I enjoyed this. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Jun 1, 2009 PPRBSG09. Growler. Pours a brune body with a tan head. Chewy pine and nut with a floral caramel malt. Peanuts and pine with a earthy Almost metallic bitter hoppiness.
