| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Growler at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Deep amber pour with a fairly creamy white head. Aroma is pretty nice. Bright fresh grapefruit and a light touch of pine over a big sweet cookie dough malt base. Cascadey with a bit of iced tea character, that a lot of people hate, but I actually enjoy. Soft spice behind the citrus with a light earthy malt finish. It gets a little bit astringent, but it still tastes pretty good. ¾ (5003), Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Listed as Double D at the downtown location. It appears as a murky and bready brown colored body with a tan head. The first taste is rough, heavy on toast and bread flavors, and it’s chewy and thick, with plum and walnut and bread crust. Very nutty and toasty, actually, and heavy on the palate, with some toasty and dry hops as well. The nose smells strongly of bread crust as well, with some alcohol and husky grains noticed as well, along with a rather large dose of a chewy, cherry flavored malty body, reminding me of the same flavors found in Stone Double Bastard. Overall it’s big a sticky and chewy, and that’s about all it has going for it. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA

Pegged as "Double D" when I went here. Hazy amber, light head and lacing. Nose of fresh dry hops, amber malt and a nice creamy malt-ness. The flavor is balanced, citrusy, grassy, herbal, caramelly, moderate alcohol. The finish is rich and chewy. Nice double red or amber, or whatever. Rciesla (3790), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2005 Had this in a sampler from Capitol City Downtown on September 5th, 2005 and later had a full pint with argo0. The best beer I had by them. Dark amber bodied and minimally clouded. Splashes of ruby around the edges. Nose is rich malts, juicy hops, caramel, hints of brown sugar and fruits. Taste is chewy and malty with lots of controlled hoppiness and caramel. Alcohol is there but well hidden. Moderate sweetness throughout this as well. Body is medium-full with a light bitterness remaining.Finishes with toasty and sweet malts, caramel, citrus fruits, resinous hops, and light alcohol. Good stuff!
