May 9, 2009 On tap at the brewery on Castleton release day 2008: Pours a transparent copper amber with a spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty caramel malts with nice nutty notes. Body starts semi-sweet and smooth with good toasty nutty flavor and a drier, slightly earthy finish. True to style and enjoyable.

Feb 22, 2009 On tap at brewery. Pretty simple here: flavor is nutty and sweet. I liked the buttery palate in particular, but otherwise this is just an above-average rendition of a style that is tough to make stand out.
