On tap @ the brewery. Clear brown with lasting head and lace. Malty toasted honey caramel and fruit aroma. Toasted caramelized brown sugar and fruit with mildly roasted finish. Medium-light soft body. Good for a brown ale.

On tap at the brewery tasting room. Pours a clear copper brown with a medium tan head. Hints of smoke, malt, and a bit of roast come across in the nose. Body is medium with a nice sweet maltiness coming through, balanced out with a bit of roasted bitterness. Finishes very gently with a little more of the sweet maltiness coming out.

Cask (gravity) @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.
Clear light to medium amber brown color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, nutty, caramel, berry, sourish berry notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and sour with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (070808)

Draft from Union Hall. Clear medium brown pour with smallish white head. Roasty malt taste. Slightly nutty and even a bit of dried fruit, I think. Sweet and easy to drink. A little bit of hop bite in a good way. Very easy to drink if rather unremarkable overall.

On tap. Dark pour with foamy lace. Fairly dry, roasted grain taste, with a touch of charcoal. Moderately bitter hops blended well with grain flavors. Not much aroma or sweetness, and a little light.

Tap at Brewery. Transparent brown with small white head. Aromas of malt, caramel, and small hop presence. Lacks in flavor and is just bland. Nothing special.

A Mes rate: gravicask at GBBF.
Mid amber coloured with no head. Rich malty aroma with plenty of bread and some yeasty notes. Grainy flavour with some nuts and wheat with some sharp and slightly sour fruit but in a good way, honestly. Decent bitter finish. Not bad at all.

(Cask at GBBF, London, 7 Aug 2008) Reddish brown colour with brief, beige head. Malty, sweetish nose with notes of dried fruit and brown sugar. Malty, nutty taste with dried fruit, brown sugar and a slightly bittersweet finish. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Nice beer.
