Cask@GBBF2008. Ambery red colour with small head. aroma is caramel, wood and some mild earthy and hoppy notes. Flavour is the same with a lot of sour fruits kicking in. Mild syrupy notes too.

(growler, thanks kmweaver) Small tan head atop clear dark brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, candi sugar, some raisin, light nut. Taste is medium sweet, raisin, caramel, some nut. Light-medium body, seems a bit thin for the flavors.

Cask at GBBF 08. Attractive clear chestnut colour with a thin beige head. It’s a bit like a strong brown ale. A bit syrupy maybe, and just a bit uncultured.

A Mes rate: gravicask at GBBF.
Mid amber coloured with no head. Rich malty aroma with plenty of bread and some yeasty notes. Grainy flavour with some nuts and wheat with some sharp and slightly sour fruit but in a good way, honestly. Decent bitter finish. Not bad at all.

On tap at the brewery on Castleton release day 2008: Pours a transparent copper amber with a spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet toasty caramel malts with nice nutty notes. Body starts semi-sweet and smooth with good toasty nutty flavor and a drier, slightly earthy finish. True to style and enjoyable.
