Very nice, rich amber/copper color. Very strong aromas of resiny hops, well balanced throughout with not a hint of the 8% alcohol.... very drinkable, it sneaks up on you afte a couple imperial pints.... BakerStMuse (19), USA

Dark amber color, small off-white head. Fruity, very strongly flowery hoppy nose. Fruity aromatic hoppy with balancing malts. Wow - this is an IIPA with all the hops and same time extremely drinkable. Finish is flowery and grassy. Good stuff. IrishBoy (2725), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 5, 2008 Pours dark copper and clear, with a turbulent ascention of fine bubbles. A white cap of a half-inch stuck around for 2-3 minutes before retiring to a light skim coat. Not bad for a growler.
Aromatics are floral and citrus-laden. Dry-ish hopping and leafy, with light grassy notes, peaches, pears, and tangerines. A hint of warmth eludes to the strength amongst the hop-strong character.
Mouthfeel is drying and bitter, with a sticky, sappy cling.
The pallet is quite hoppy also, with a smooth, lingering bitterness which keeps the sweetish malts in check.
Plenty of tropical fruits and powdered resin.
Dryed apricots, candied orange segments, and pine sap are forefront, with the bitterness continuing on for the duration.
Finishes with a drying tackiness and warth on the back of the throat.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2008 Thanks to Paul for the handbottle! Poured translucent medium orange with a tall initial cap of deep beige head. The aroma picked up a helluva lot of hoppage.. pineapple, grapefruit, and pine led the way with lighter fruits and a bit of citrus sweetness behind. The flavor had lighter fruits and hints of honey and toffee at the core, surrounded again by heavy bitterness.. pine and juicy pineapple were amplified by spicy alcohol.. warm, fruity finish. Heavier-bodied on the palate with just the right carbonation to keep it moving along.. well-balanced and just really enjoyable all-around! beastiefan2k (1607), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA

Either way every time I drink it I am always reminded how authentically non-East coast it is. It s a clear dark amber color with a small but sticky head. Aroma is strong tropical fruit hops with some present bitterness to offset the medium sweetness of the hops. Taste is nicely balanced with sweet and lightly bitter hoppiness. It has a medium body that is not sticky or overly aggressive on the cheeks. Makes this beer so easy to drink and yet get your hop fix. Seems to not have changed much since it was originally brewed (as opposed to some of the other brews) Goblet pour on tap at Blind Tiger.
