Commercial Description:
This is a beer that will make you rethink your definition of beer. It doesn’t taste like any beer you’ve ever had, yet it doesn’t taste like anything else either. Pushing the limits of brewing is what makes this job so much fun. Malted barley, wild yeast, hand picked Muscat Grapes, and French oak wine barrels are just a few of the things that went into crafting this beer. Breathe deep, take a long sip, and enjoy the creation in your hand.

Sampled at "An evening with Pantanap #2". 750ml bottle. Thanks to dickinsonbeer for this beer, a great guy! Pours a murky yellow orange with a white ring of a fizzy head that fades quick. Aroma is sweet and yeasty with grapefruit and spice notes. Flavors are mostly grapefruit and acidity with tropical fruit and oak around the edges. The acidity rapes my mouth, leaving it tart dry and slightly harsh. As it warms the grapefruit juice just takes over and dominates everything. This could use some funky/earthy notes, but overall this is past its prime. 8/3/7/3/15 = 3.6

Bottle thanks to Kan at the First Annual Chicago Sour Tasting. Pours a clear orange with a thin head. Herbal citrus aromas with bready malts and lavender. Citrus flavors, acidic, earthy fruity with a light bitterness. Better than the last bottle.

(750ml bottle) Sampled at Oakes 2007 Christmas party. Thanks Beershine! Cloudy headless with nose of 5-Alive. Flavour is extremely tart, sour lemons. A nice change-up beer at the tasting...

25.4 oz bottle. Cloudy pineapple with a slim ring of white. Exquisite nose of white concord grapes and sour lemon candies with a pinch of white pepper. Taste starts with sour, but fruity, apple and pear. Oak smoothes out the tart edges leaving a refreshing, frozen grape sweetness with hints of cherry. Lightly effervescent, mouth watering, nectar. Dry grape skins and sour dough trail off blissfully.

Cloudy, blonde. Wow...gooseberries...impressive sour fruitiness. Killer citrus - grapefruit & dalandan. Way sour, kind of grapefruit juice-like, and also quite spicy. Big citrus, crazy subtle nuances that don’t quite get at what they’re getting at. Very good brew - unique, complex and challenging.

Foggy deep yellow color - flavor depended greatly from the top pour to the bottom pour. Extremely sweet, syrupy-grapefruit. Would be an excellent desert beer with apple, citrus and honeydew flavors coupled with an extreme grapefruit head.

Pours hazy yellow, rather luminous. Nose is total grapefruit. Fizzy carbonation. All throughout this beer I can’t think of much else but sublime citrus. Not actually that complex of a beer, and yet whatever flavors are here are assertive enough to keep you interested for a long time. I don’t like grapefruits themselves but when it is upfront in beer like this I melt. A must-try for sourheads.

Bottle shared by Bruno at C-bus 9! Pours a light straw color with a decent sized white head. Aroma is white grapes, apple, oak, funk. Flavor is tart/sour grapes, apple, oak, lemon, grapefruit. Palate is medium bodied, actively carbonated, acidic and fizzy up front, gives way to fruity and tart in the middle then finished straight sour! This was amazing stuff!
