Commercial Description:
This is a beer that will make you rethink your definition of beer. It doesn’t taste like any beer you’ve ever had, yet it doesn’t taste like anything else either. Pushing the limits of brewing is what makes this job so much fun. Malted barley, wild yeast, hand picked Muscat Grapes, and French oak wine barrels are just a few of the things that went into crafting this beer. Breathe deep, take a long sip, and enjoy the creation in your hand.

Spawned my love of the Sour. I love that aged dry white wine bubbly goodness. A little sour and sweet. Some woodsy spices and fruits too. I love the taste of tart malt with some fruits. So delicous. Very complex, as simple as I make it sound.

Bottled. An unclear light golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light sour notes. The flavor is sweet yet acidic with light notes of brettanomyce. I find it very simple - but OK.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Pours a hazy, pale golden - loos mostly like a Belgian Wit - with a small, white head. Tart, fruity and fairly spicy nose. Medium-bodied with tart Brett accents and some exotic fruit accents - some banana also. Dry lightly astringent acidity in the finish. Interesting and delicately refined but by no means a Flemish Sour - this is a pale Belgian Ale with some Brett, just like what Russian River has been doing for years. 280907

Bottle. Hazy yellow coloured with a white head. Sweet aroma of wood and vanilla with acidic notes of wine. Acidic flavour dominated by peaches with fruity notes and notes of wood. Rather unbalanced, I’ve had better flemish sour’s than yhis one.

75 cL bottle. As I missed this at the 2007 RBSG I was extremely glad to see Papsoe put this on for the tasting amongst the Copenhagen crew. As huge as my expectations were as huge was my disappointment with this. I really hadn’t missed anything on this from the RBSG, but it requires that someone puts the bottle on the table for you to take the hype out of this one - thanks for that Papsoe, and once again thanks for the huge efforts you make to get stuff like this to the country.

Pours hazy yellow with no head. Slight apple and acidic/citric aroma. Light to medium bodied. Flavour is sour with a minor sweetness lurking through. Not really wellbalanced. Too one dimensional citric, lacks some complexity. Compared to the flemish sours I’ve rated on this site and those tasted but not rated: this brew really isn’t amongst the best imo, I had expected quite a lot more from this.

Maybe the star of the show at RBSG for me. Cloudy and hazy golden yellow witha white head. I am not sure how I can say it smelled sour and lemony and have it sound great but this was a delight for the nose for darn sure. This is one of those brews that you can sit there and sniff away and enjoy it every bit as much as tasting it. Sour and citrusy but more complexthat it sounds.

Poured a hazy light yellow color with a thin white head. The aroma had a moderate amount of brett. with very nice leather notes. Wheaty citrus with lemon as well. The flavor was tart and acidic with a mild funk. Lemony notes with an acidic but clean finish. Light bodied and bright.
