Nice beer. Balanced roast and bitterness complement the sweet and rich coffee and espresso flavors. Bitter roast does not linger and finished clean.

On tap at a local bar. A thick black body with a nice bone color head that had decent retention. Aroma had a heavy coffee not but i could detect a pleasant chocolate note too, but a good roasted profile all the way. Flavor was initially sweet with semi-sweet chocolate note it gave away to a great roasted coffee profile. A great dry finish, and a beer that certainly was full bodied.

750ml from LilBeerDoctor - thanks, Margaret! Pour is slightly thin, with only modest carbonation. Handsomely black, with an oily texture to it. Aroma isn’t nearly as sharp as I’d expected, nor is the palate as thick as it needs to be for a beer in this style. But the flavors were quite enjoyable, a blend of milk, chocolate, and coffee that reminds me of Shorts Cuppa Joe. Not bad at all.

Growler. Courtesy dchmela. Pours black, with a small off brown head. The aroma consists of definite coffee, roasted malts, toasty toffee, and hints of dark chocolate. the flavor is much of the same. Good doses of sweet coffee flavors, chocolate and dark malts. Kind of a deep and dark brew. Solid palate, although not extremely thick. I was cool with that its only 6% alcohol. extremely drinkable brew with full flavor. Enjoyed it.

Growler. Not exactly what I want in a coffee stout, but not bad at all. Aroma is faint chocolate and coffee, not bad, but nothing that really stands out. Flavor is much the same, nice balance of chocolate, coffee, malt, and grains. Very, very drinkable. A bit thin on the palate, but very creamy. Overall, a nice sessionable brew.

On tap at brewery. Features a gorgeous aroma of fresh black espresso and bittersweet chocolate. Flavor is definitely espresso-centric, but with some mocha and sweet malt for balance. Palate is soft, and average in thickness.
