Draught sample at the Greenwich, CT location. They insisted there was nothing Belgian about this, but they were wrong. Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of ginger, dry malt, some peppery splashes. Tastes sweet and malty with some floral notes and a nice ginger bite on the finish.

House tap beer at Gingerman NYC, very nice. Appearence is a rich copperwith white head, sweet toffee nose with nice hoppiness. Flavour is great, slight sweet malt, good bitterness and spot on carbonation. Well executed in every aspect, could sit on this beer forever and a day.

Tap at Ginger Man. aroma of caramel malt, ginger, pepper, maybe some other herbal spiciness. Flavor mingles the ginger with some sweet wild berries, toffee and cracker, and just a touch of citrus. Very good, better and better as it goes along.

Draft at Ginger Man NYC. Poured a clear medium orange color with a thin off white head. Pleasant aroma of clove and subdued baking spices. Medium bodied with carbonation on the lower end of the spectrum. The flavors followed the aromas; clove, baking spices, and toffee. Very nice and easy to drink.

draft at the ginger man norwalk has a caramel amber color and came with a thin head. aroma has light malt, lemon zest, floral flowery yeast, ginger, and a touch of candy sugar sweetness. mouth feel is on the lighter side but has a frothy fullness. flavor starts off with ginger, light bitterness, light lemon, and abbey floral yeast. the ginger here does not dominate and works well with the malt and light sweetness. finish lingers becoming dry with ginger and malted bitters. very well balanced for a ginger beer and not overdone with ginger and spice. smooth and easy to drink.

Tap at Ginger Man. Pale golden beer with a lively spicy nose. Nice rich spiciness is apparent. There is a fairly subtle ginger character in the nose. A light spiciness that is well integrated with the yeasty spiciness. The ginger is initially quite subtle, but it picks up as the beer warms up, as does the light Belgian yeasty spiciness. There is a really nice crisp/crackery maltiness. A bit of hoppy spice/grassiness comes through on the back.

Imperial pint pour at the Ginger Man. Pours with a large pillow-y head, which sits atop a clear copper body. Aroma is strong with Belgian yeastiness and an estery-fruitiness. Comes of as strawberry. There are plenty of hops in there as well. They come off very vine-y and green. All together its a weird mix. Taste is very similar. It’s a succession of spikes of esters and then hops. It doesn’t "meld" at all, instead its two competing sides to the beer. However, it works well enough and interesting in its own way. It ends with yeast sweetness and rubbery hops. I enjoyed it but I can easily see the ratings going the other way.

Tap @ Ginger Man, Norwalk, CT. This beer was a pleasant surprise. The ginger flavor is nicely subtle while most of the undertones from from a lemony hint. This beer actually takes very similar to lemon flavored black tea. Not a bad treat for a specialty flavored beer.
