Thanks Secret Santa! Brought this to be sampled at the Relentless Thirst tasting. Medium yellow, clear, nice head. Aroma is honey malts, apple, and alcohol heat. Flavor is essentially a match. A very nice tripel with a good dose of apple brandy notes and woodiness. Nice stuff.

Aroma is apple, brandy, wood and faint cheese. Taste is sweet apple, brandy, peppery wood and faint booze and cheese. Medium bodied,

From the Bottle at Dr Bill’s Tasting Falling Rock Tap House, Denver 09/10/2008 Bourbon aroma. Golden coloured strong in alcohol and a little sweet on the palate with a little dryness and bitterness in a crisp finish.

Bottle shared at the July RB tasting-thank me! Bright yellow, hazy, and very carbonated. Nose is spicy, appley. Taste is over the top alcohol, sweet, very liquorish, that hides what subtle flavors should be in this beer. Unlike any tripel I’ve ever had-not to style. Very drinkable but overall dissapointing.

bottle thanks to bleeng. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Nose is of yeast and sour apple. Taste is of apple, kinda cider-like. Mouthfeel was dry with alcohol noticeable and lots of carbonation.

Bottle at the July Houston tasting, courtesy of Bleeng. Thanks, Rick! Pours a vibrant and semi-thick dark orange with a nice white head. Aroma is apple and brown sugar with a brandy backbone. Flavor is brandy, brandy, brandy, and brandy, with subtle hints of apple. Very boozy and assertive. Thick mouthfeel that lets the booze sit fat on the palate. This is some seriously potent stuff; the alcohol doesn’t even pretend to not be in the picture. Wow.

Bottle from JB175 - thanks Jason! Pours a nice brighter golden color with moderate white head. Nose is tart cider and hot alcohol. Flavor is very like an apple whiskey - the Tripel flavors of yeast and the dry-hopping make for an equally potent finish. Really reminded me of a spirit.

Pours copper with some white foam at the surface. Smells of brandy, oak, sweet malt, some residual sugary hints. Tastes funky and dry with some brandy at the forefront and a warming cidery dry finish. Great experiment!
