Courtesy of gunhaver. Pours murky golden-orange with chunks of sediment and an off white head. The aroma is fruitiness, barrel wood notes, tartness, a load of alcohol nose searing heat and dry brandy boozy hotness. The taste is tart and hot to start followed by fruitiness and a load of tartness along with a building alcohol and brandy booziness. It ends as pure grain alcohol from like a plastic bottle.

Sampled at Hellbilly’s Hellraiser II. Got a fruity peach aroma and alcohol on the nose. Hazy gold body. Flavor was tart, sour and some burning effect on the palate.

750 ml bottle(Courtesy of HOPSCOTCH)-Pours like apple juice with a small white covering for a head. Aroma of alcohol, apple, and belgian yeast. Flavors of apple, yeast, and an abundance of alcohol. The alcohol fades throughout the mouthful and finishes with a dryness on the back end. A very well blended full body beer but I feel along with the majority that this is just too hot. It seems as though it is bigger than 10%.

Pours a very foggy orange that carries some dull brown tints. Creme head. Nose at first was like those little antiseptic wipes that you use to clean a cit. Kind of like the ones you get loads of when you eat wings, but the medical kind. Weird, eh? That doesn’t take long to die, thankfully. What comes next and stays is a fairly firm wood character with obvious hints of apples. Taste is nice. Real smooth delivery of wood and apples. The problem is that the alcohol is very noticeable here. Feel has a nice biting carbonation and a good liquid feel. Overall the problem for me here is that this thing is too hot. The alcohol burn just knocks it down a bit too much, though much less after well over an hour of sitting. Besides that flaw, I think it is fairly nice. Though a bottle is best to share really.

A hot and boozy concoction that begs you to plow through a big supper and plop by the fireside before opening. Big bottle generously shared by Rad Brad the Cellar Cad at WSF. Golden-orange coppery color, with bunches of floaties in there. Smells like Calvados and rum, musty, fruity and boozy. Tastes sweet and alcoholic, cidery and caramel-malty, with surprisingly lively carbonation.I think it was jbrus who nailed it: You could slowly work your way through the whole bottle alone while watching the Lord of the Rings extended edition back-to-back-to-back. That would be the right context.

Sampled at hellbilly’s HellRaiser II. Pours a hazy amber-cider color with a foamy white head. Aroma is apples with lots of yeast and alcohol. Flavor is actually prety much the same. Lots of alcohol on the finish. I liked it better later in the night mixed 50/50 with some Dark Lord!

A Mes rate: Bottle at weekend of tarts.
Murky mid brown colour with a very slight head. Thick and buttery aroma (not ridden with diacetyl though) apple, brandy, earth, pineapple, a bit of coconut from the barrel and some HARDCORE but rather attractive alcohol. Flavour is more of the same but Jeeeeeeeesus the alcohol is HUGE. 18% coconut husk beer. Madness.

Thanks as always Brad.

Bottle. Aroma most noticeably of popcorn-flavored Jelly Belly Jelly Beans. Sweet brandy (maybe with apple included?) also plays it’s role. Brandy and it’s alcohol really take over in the flavor, creating a thick, sweet triple. I specifically decided to have this tonight because I felt like a nice alcohol warming (I don’t know why, now I’m sweating), and it surely didn’t disappoint. Even taking my mood into account, this was the most drinkable "hot" beer I’ve ever had. While the apple may have only been visible upon searching at this point in the beer’s life, it was welcome, although to an extent it seemed nothing more than a novelty. It certainly didn’t change how hot the beer was or necessarily blend with the brandy/base triple, just added another level. All in all, very interesting, and if you’re in the mood, can be just what the doctor ordered.
