Commercial Description:
Don't let the golden color fool you - this isn't your father's lite beer! Brewed with imported German malts and US-grown hops, this beer is a full-flavored introduction to craft-brewed beer. We add the hops late in the boil, allowing you to enjoy the flavor and aroma of the hops without an aggressive bitterness. Sensory Profile: Aromas of orange, spice, and green grass. Clean malt-dominated flavor, with a subdued bitterness playing in the background of the aromas of this beer. Food Pairing: A great match with fish and chicken, both sautéed and grilled, especially with citrus and herbs preparations. Shellfish steamed in Liquid Gold is a match made in beer heaven.

In short: A nice and very hoppy grassy blonde Belgian Ale
How: Tap at brewery
The look: Clear blonde body with a small white head
In long: Smooth honeyed bready cereals. Rather aromatic with notes of wild flowers. Fresh wet grass on the nose and in the attack that turns into a dry grassy finish. Discreet fruity notes of grapefruit, critrus, peach and friends. The hopping takes a lot of room in this Belgian Ale and that’s quite alright with me. Totally appropriate beer named after a totally appropriate way to describe a beer.

Pours a pretty clean straw yellow body with a lively white head. Aroma is mostly bananas with some sweet citrus and mild spice. Flavor is a mildly spiced banana bread with some citrus notes. Thanks Eric.

Sample from Growler courtesy of egadzis (thanks for this want list beer!). Poured a lighter and clear yellow color with a small sized white head. Aromas of fruitiness, bananas, and light spices. Tastes of fruitiness, bready, citrus, and light spices. Lighter and ’refreshing’.

Thanks to egadzis for bringing back this growler from NY. Pour a mostly translucent golden with a bubbly white head. Aroma of banana, some clove, lemon notes, floral, some corriander and other spices along with some bready malt. Flavor of citrus, bread, various spices, Belgian yeast, sweet up front with a dry finish.

on tap-pours a white head and yellow color. Aroma is funky fruit-apricot, light/medium malt, yeast. Taste is musty, funky fruit-apricot, light/medium malt, yeast, secondary citrus/spicy hops, coriander. Occasional, interesting. OK carbonation.

On tap at Fette Sau on 9/14/07: Pours a transparent pale golden with a well-lacing, wispy white head. Aroma of sweet biscuity pale malt with a hint of orange peel and Belgian yeast. Body starts with nice sweetness and some tart orange and coriander citrus balance toward a bready, well-balanced sweet finish. A very nice, true to style brew.

from mesa gathering. poured from a growler pale gold with no head. sweet aroma of caramel, malt, and something vegetal...almost like a lager yeastiness. flavor is the same with a pleasant acidity, dried herb or yeasty spice dryness. the finish is clean with some lingering alcohol. medium bodied with very little carbonation.
