Commercial Description:
Don't let the golden color fool you - this isn't your father's lite beer! Brewed with imported German malts and US-grown hops, this beer is a full-flavored introduction to craft-brewed beer. We add the hops late in the boil, allowing you to enjoy the flavor and aroma of the hops without an aggressive bitterness. Sensory Profile: Aromas of orange, spice, and green grass. Clean malt-dominated flavor, with a subdued bitterness playing in the background of the aromas of this beer. Food Pairing: A great match with fish and chicken, both sautéed and grilled, especially with citrus and herbs preparations. Shellfish steamed in Liquid Gold is a match made in beer heaven.

2009-08-01. Crisp yellow body with a modest white head. (3+) Aroma has an interesting slightly funky tropical fruit character to it, muted touches of grass. (7+) Flavour has a similar tropical fruit character to the hops, light bitterness, lingering impression of fruit. Average palate. Quaffable, pretty interesting. At BCTC 2009

Nice brew. Aroma is of sweet malt with floral hops. Flavor similar with citrus fruits. Refreshing and very drinkable.

On tap at Rattle ’N’ Hum (Midtown, NYC): Pours a light yellow, not the "liquid gold" I was hoping for. Clean malt flavor and relatively smooth finish. Not too much to say about this beer when it’s good, but certainly not the best Capt. Lawrence has to offer. It is what it is. #053 on 07072009, DG.

On draft at Rattle n Hum. Pours a clear golden yellow colour. Aroma is of light honey and lemon tea, spices, floral hops, malts, with some grassy notes. Flavour is the same as the aroma but slightly weaker.

Tap at Copper Mine Pub in North Arlington NJ. Pours bright yellow with very small white head. Aroma has a very distinct wheat aroma not very common to Begian ales, this is also apparent in the flavor. I also get orange, some sort of spice, with a touch of bitter hops. Very smooth, the bitterness hits at the end. Decent, good summer beer.

On tap. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow with a thin, white head that leaves some faint lacing. Aroma is more akin a witbier with lots of spice, pale malt, yeast, candi sugar, bubblegum. Taste is sweet with overripe light fruits, coriander, white sugar, bananas, weak citrus hops. Enjoyable but would be better as a witbier than Belgian ale.

On tap at fette sau brooklyn. The spice and malt cut right through the spicy barbecue sauce of my dinner. Really nice and surprised at the body on this one. Murky bright yellow color. Aroma of spice and yeast. Flavor is full bodied with a decent sweetness and slightly bitter finish.

Poured yellow with a white head. Aroma of fruit and spice. Fruit flavor with a hint of spice. Some bready texture as it warmed. Not my thing.
