Commercial Description:
One of the first beers I brewed after moving out to California to begin my brewing education was a Pale Ale. This version is a true testament to the influences the Wild West had on my early brewing. My Pale Ale is loaded with US-grown Cascade, Crystal, and Columbus hops, so be sure to take a good sniff to enjoy their robust aromas before taking your first sip. Sensory Profile: An aromatic beer with notes of citrus, pine, a noticeable bitterness, and a touch of malty backbone to help balance it out. Food Pairing: Foods with a spicy kick are a great match, as the bitterness of the hops will help to cool the palate before your next bite. Mexican food and pizza are natural matches.

[Draft @ Barcade] Poured a lightly hazy, amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, dough, caramel malts, and citrus fruits. Taste was citrusy, pine, caramel, and grapefruit. Dry, hoppy finish.

Rich golden amber, small white head. Reminds me of a Sierra Nevada Pale in appearance. Floral and cascade nose. Dry in the mouth, strong pine and orange, dry finish, and then a bitter after note. Not as bitter as I would have liked, but the dryness and the bitterness interact nicely.

Draft at the Blind Tiger. Aroma of peaches and citrus / grapefruit hops. The flavor is very similar, with some grainy malt undertones. Very good mouthfeel, and the fruity hops in this one make it one of my top pale ales.

Strong citrus aroma with beautiful coloring and lacing. Flavor is complex, but if I had to sum it up in 5 words or less, I’d say "Sierra Nevada with a kick (wonder why?)" and well.........a near perfect APA! Drank this one with pizza, just as Scott recommends and it did not disappoint. Nicely balanced. Another good one from CL!

on tap-pours a retaining creamy light tan head that laces and amber color. Aroma is caramel malt, secondary hops-citrus. Taste is hops-citrus, some bitter, caramel malt. OK carbonation.

Nice aroma of hops with some citrus. Great deep golden color, frothy off-white head. Lots of bitterness in the finish, some malt and and biscuit in the taste. A little too bitter for me. Really nice lacing, nothing too special in the palate.

Growler from Maxxdaddy. Thanks Max. Pours a clear golden color. Just what you might expect from an APA. But hey, this did have a nice hop profile, not like John Barrymore but a nice profile non-the-less. Mild hop flavors and a bit of malts make this sure bet for a treat after a long jog.

Tap@ Capt. Lawrence. Poured a clear amber color with a decent off-white head. The aroma was of citrusy hop with a good malt base. Nice caramel malty flavor with a citrusy hop middle and bitterness that grew from the middle to the finish. Semi-dry finish that was moderately bitter. Medium body.
