| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 3, 2009 The only non-infected bottle but still not very good. Chestnut pour with a solid latte colored head and a decent amount of sticky lacing. Aroma is oak, vanilla, and roasted malt. Flavor exhibits caramel, cocoa, wood, and allows the rum to come through (although it is more noticeable than one would think in a 6.4% beer)...alcohol a bit off-putting. Medium mouthfeel. Not my favorite series!!! Sammy (4013), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

This bomber pours black, and an aroma of malt, a bit of smoke. Smooth integration of the rum and the porter. A bit sour at the last sixth of the bottle, very much so in last 5% if you are so inclined. Masterful.Good mouthfeel, very drinkable. emacgee (1884), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 29, 2009 Thanks hophead75. Pours a dark black with a 2 finger frothy tan head. The nose is woody, tart, some fruity notes, mild vanilla, rum plays a background role and is well integrated. Flavor is woody, warm, nice barrel character, vanilla, well integrated rum flavor. Palate is nice, not as carbonated as the other SFTO. Tasty. markwise (1186), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 25, 2009 Thanks MCLK for the share. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Nose is roast, malt, slight alcohol/ rum and lots of balance to this beer. Interesting spirit barrel to use for this, and it works well. Flavor is roast, malt, and some spice- it levels off with nice rum flavors. Enjoyable beer. TampaBrew (824), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 25, 2009 Bottle courtesy of MCLK. Poured deep brown. Nose was rum, slight smoke, some caramel notes and slight wood. Flavor was mush the same with the rum coming through as it warmed up. Slightly boozey. Interesting beer and cudos to CL for trying different barrels. gunhaver (1025), Tampa, Florida, USA

Some ashy notes in the nose, nice rummy licorice notes, some slick and spicy elements. Slightly dry, brown sugar, some spicy cinnamon and licorice, slight tartness. Full-bodied, quite tasted, somewhat balanced. HOPSHUNTER (376), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2009 Bottle. Poured dark brown almost back. The aroma is sweet roasted malt, dark fruit and strong rum over-tones. Flavor is quite boozy with a hard roasted malt background and accents of fig, rum and smoke. Finishes dry and woody. elihapa (1052), Honolulu, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 12, 2009 Bomber. Aroma is remarkably the essence of rum and dark liquer, with some light grass and toasted malt. Palate is very creamy, almost buttery in its smoothness. Carbonation is definitely second fiddle here. Flavor starts with molasses and brown sugar, dark flavors that are robust and distinct. Mid-palate contributes roasts, rum, and dark chocolate. Finish is where this beer really shines: the sweet malt, roasts, and slight smoked meat are complexified by a funk that is really appealing to me. God, overall there is so much going on here . . . I started getting everything and the kitchen sink, such as green apple funk and teriyaki meat. Wow, love this, good job CL.
