Commercial Description:
This is a big, malty and rich Belgian-style abbey ale. We combined both US- and Belgian-malted barley and a specially selected yeast strain to produce a truly unique beer. This beer was brewed as a thank-you to my father Vince who has helped to make this brewery a reality. It will be brewed once a year and released on Father’s Day. This is a great beer for aging, so lay some down and try it in a year or two! Sensory Profile: Ripe fruit, figs and chewy malt are a few of the flavors you will encounter in this beer. There is an underlying roastiness and caramel sweetness that comes through toward the end. Hops play a background role to the malt character of this brew. Food Pairing: This beer can stand on its own as an after-dinner drink. A rich brew to sip and enjoy, it also goes great with desert or roasted meats. Use this beer as you would a full-bodied cabernet or an aged port.

Got this 750ml @ Whole Foods, Bowery. Pour is chestnut brown with some mega frothy white head atop. Smooth caramel and slight burnt hay notes. Soft on the palate. Good.

nothing too special here. i almost wish i did age it instead of drink it right away. brown in color, tiny little head, minimal carbonation. sugary, yeasty, and some fruits on the nose. hard to pinpoint the taste, i would say molasses or maple syrup mixed with some sort of dried fruit. sugary and thick almost to the point where it turned me off. not a bad brew, i was just expecting something a little different.

Bottle. Slightly cloudy amber with a thin even white head. Smooth burnt caramel aroma, light Belgian yeast component. Smooth taste, simply sweet and grainy, light yeasty flavors. Pretty nice.

Special thanks to JMFG. Raisins, brown sugar and a slight alcohol kick. Flavor is fairly sweet but not off turning. Very good.

Draught on 25th July 2009 at Ginger Man NYC. Brown in colour with thin off white head of foam. Malt very much in evidence with berry fruit to the fore. Some background caramel; quite a lot of spice (cinnamon and nutmeg) in evidence; pungent to dry finish.
