Visible carbonation bubbles. Head settles to a nice, rocky - big bubble with nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of bright citrus and apple hoppiness. There is also Belgian sugar yeastiness. In the very back of the nose, there is a soft biscuit maltiness. Very complex nose. Taste is big bitter sweetness in the front, fading into a grassy yeastiness. Carbonation is present and lightens the otherwise full palate. Thanks for sharing this one Tom, and thanks for sending it to KC Jason! Cobra (1066), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA

No freshness date seen. Big thanks to Hophead 75 for trading with me. Loud pfftt when opened. Slight gusher. Poured out a hazy orange color, with a huge, frothy white head. Aromas are funky Belgian yeast, citrus peel, sourdough bread, some pepper.
Flavors are Belgian funk, citrus, peppery hops, tropical fruit. Medium mouthfeel, decent body. Finishes kind of dry and hoppy. Decent beer overall. tjthresh (1780), Greenfield, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 5, 2008 Bottle from Ughsmash. Pours nearly brilliant gold with lots of little bubbles. Eggshell white head with a bunch of lace. Delicate fruity bubblegum aromas with light honey, and pepper. Tongue scrubbing hop flavor with some sugary sweetness left behind. Medium/full body. Hight carbonation. Dry finish. Really nice beer. rudolf (1783), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Other people at the tasting didn’t like this one but I found it interesting. Maybe its the homebrewer in me wanting to see what happens when something wacky is tried. Hazy gold, fluffy white head. Nose is really unlike any beer I’ve had before. Banana, yeast, resiny hops, caramel, odd sugaryness. Flavor is resiny hops up front, yeasty dryness, clove, alcohol. More hops come through in the finish with yeasty spiciness, caramel/butterscotch. An odd jumble, I don’t know that I’d buy another bottle, but an interesting brew. kkearn (1013), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 31, 2008 750mL bottle, sampled alongside Golden Delicious. Poured yellow golden, with a moderate sized white head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, tropical fruit and alcohol, with some citric hops in the finish. Flavor opens with wheat, yeast and fruit, which quickly give way to hefty hops, which take over the flavor and provide a long, bitter finish. Interesting American interpretation of the style. wickedpete (629), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Thanks to Ken for this one. 2006 bottle. Hazy pale gold color, and an effervescent head. Aroma is yeasty and acidic fruity, apples. Sweet, fruity flavor along with a dry bitter finish. Carbonation is quite lively. xmarcnolanx (806), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA

Fucking skunked.
Aroma is skunky, apples. As it warms the skunked aroma goes away, but it still smells pretty nice besides that.
Taste is skunky, more apples, sweet fizzy fruitiness. Some paper in this, dryness. Very solid.
Lots of hops.
I wish this was not skunked.
Well, crafted, not-alcoholic. Just a shame they use green bottles.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2008 750mL Bottle. Puckered apple skin aroma, light waft of coconut meat and Chinese five spice. Delicate, floral and spring-like. Misty. Pours a brilliant deep honey gold, with a soft, off-white, opalescent head above. Flavor is a rich Belgian candi, backed with lemon, savory Mediterranean spice, and herbs. Oregano and thyme peak past light acid note. Great body. Fresh. Lively. Hops don’t really show, they just add to the yeast and malt fiasco. Somewhat savory. Light and dry. Crisp. A delightful rendition, with good yeast character. I’m just not getting through to the hops as much as I would have anticipated, but it’s a nice beer. Alcohol hides well. The smack reveals more hop leaf, but it comes as a bit of an afterthought by then. Great character all around. Maybe not as complex as I would have expected, but delicious nonetheless.
