| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 1, 2008 Pours gold in color with plenty of carbonation and a decent inch of head on the pour. Smell is juicy, citrusy hops and some belgian yeast.
Taste is a perfect balance of belgian and IPA. This is the first of the style that I have thoroughly enjoyed. The hops are very citrusy and work well in this Tripel. Plenty of carbonation and bitterness in the hops that create a wonderful mouth feel. Wonderful beer and you never notice the 10% ABV. I could drink this regularly, very well done and enjoyable. Slightly hazy deep golden to amber color with a small, quickly-diminishing, white head. Aroma of fruits (peach, apricot and apple hints), some yeast, a bit of malt and spicy notes. Sweetish spicy flavor with a bit of caramel, some fruitiness, yeast and a dry spicy finish. Medium-bodied. OK but nothing exciting. eaglefan538 (2383), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
