BBB63 (3822), La Porte, Indiana, USA May 13, 2007 Thanks MrBendo for the bottle and served in my trusty Duval snifter: Pours to a illuminating golden hue topped by a massive white foamy head and left excellent lace upon the glassware. The aroma has than new hybrid car smell...wait I mean the new hybrid Trippel smell of aggressive Amarillo hops and sweet bready malt with a dash of cane sugar and a yeasty basement.

Nicely done and mouth watering flavor profile too with all the wanted characteristics of grassy and lightly citric resiny hops inner playing with heavy handed sweet malt and sugar. A final smash of Belgium yeast allows this brew to complete the deal. Still a touch young as the moderate alcohol bite and phenols will attest. I dig this and it is the equal to all American attempts at the hybrid genre (still not Houblon Dobbelen but what is?)
durhambeer (609), Durham, USA Nov 17, 2008 Bottle thanks to dchmela. Cloudy golden orange pour with a big foamy white head. Strong apricot and milder citrus. Big taste of fresh tart crisp apples. Light bready yeast. Good balance of sweet/yeasty/slight sourness. Nice floral notes. Pretty boozy, which I found to be one of the few drawbacks of this beer. sersdf (872), chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 16, 2008 thanks nhorween. pale bronze color, minimal white rim of head., slightly hazy. apricots and light fruit, honeyed almonds, a tiny bit of funk. surprisingly acerbic sourness. drank with deep dich pizza it tastes super alcoholic. great example of the style, pretty dry tho. wow, 10%? that’s surprising. very nicely hidden. BelgianBeerGal (1018), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 10, 2008 Bottle via trade. I’ll take this as an American twist on the Belgian basic. Good, but different. A little more bitterness and hop characteristic than typical. Missing some of the expected sweetness as a balancer. Still good though. Honestly did not notice a HINT of the 10 ABV; very well hidden. presario (2484), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Oct 6, 2008 American Tripel? Belgian IPA...? Lightly clouded dark yellow. Delicious golden aroma. Dusty juicy grapefruit Tripel. Pretty clean taste. Lots of hops. A big hoppy Belgian IPA!! Bungalo22 (317), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Oct 5, 2008 Had from the bottle - I am so happy they are doing that now - and poured into a snifter. It pours a cloudy, unfiltered looking yellow with a thin head. The aroma to me it dominated by citrus. A very very strong citrus aroma that follows through to the taste. The taste is complex bring the citrus, some earthy tastes, fruits like bannanas and it is sweet while sipping but ends a touch bitter. It gets better and better as it goes on. can knock you on your butt if you aren’t careful.
