Commercial Description:
Black beer, strong and nutritive, with a high body flavor. It has a toasted malt aroma, accentuated bitterness content and medium alcoholic content. Because it is not filtered, it contains yeast and, therefore, it is a great food complement. Ingredients - potable treated water, toasted malted barley, non-malted cereals, carbohydrates, hops, caramel dye

Bottled. Intransparently black with rich beige head. Roasty coffee with cream and too much sugar. Chocolatey, soft and rich, but very one-dimensional.

Dark amber color; creamy head. Nice chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Quite sweet, chocolatey, with delicate roasted malt and liquorice. Very interesting.

Bottled on 2/22/01: Pours a very dark brown with a thin light tan head. Mild toasty dark caramel aroma has some mild light fruits. Sugary dark caramel, lightly oxidized body has a sweet sticky finish. This would probably be quite nice were it a little fresher.

Bottled. Jet black beer with brown head. Aroma is coffee and roasted malts. Flavor is quite sweet, with roasted taste of coffee and dark chocolate. An unidentified and unpleasant element in the flavor makes a 6 instead of a 7. Medium to full body. (051104)

Bottle sampled at a The LoSBD meeting, thanks to dm9831: This poured a murky brown body, clear mahogany around the edges, with a skinny tan head. It had an aroma of bittersweet chocolate, dark, burnt malt, and an earthy bitterness. Some cola flavoring was added to the taste. The finish had a dry, coffee bitterness. Not bad.

Can. High brown creamy and long lasting head. Ptich black body. Burned malt aroma with notes of coffee. Coffee flavor with some bitterness and some sweetness. Relatively high carbonation and a long coffee aftertaste.
