Sampled in Dublin. Pours dead black with very nice fragent hops. A bit on the bitter side but roasted nicely with a good finish. Well worth a try.

Dec 5, 2009 Pours a deep almost black color that turns out to be a pretty dark ruby when held up to the light. The head is pretty thick and fluffy and leaves a very good lace. The aroma has dark chocolate with some light currant and roasty coffee notes but is all together pretty faint. The flavor is nicely roasty and bitter with some good hoppiness and some very good burnt toast notes. There are also notes of raisin and oatmeal. The palate is just mildly thin.

Dec 2, 2009 Draft at Bell Luna/Milky Way. Pours a black color with a thick creamy beige head. Tons of lacing leave the glass covered in a sheet of tan browness. Nose is roast malts and light creamy chocolate. Palate is thick and smooth and creamy. Flavors of roast malt notes with some dry chocolate malt balls and the creaminess here is rich.

Nov 19, 2009 50cl bottle poured into a pint glass. Huge cinnamon coloured head which slowly subsided. Very little lacing. The aroma is of baking chocolate, bitter sweet. The mouth feel is a little oily, with a chocolaty after taste. Mmm, a very nice pint of stout.

Nov 2, 2009 Poured out, take a wild guess what it looked like? That’s right - black. Almost like an Imperial Stout, but not as viscous as one. There was almost no head but a nice tan film left behind and a slight bubble to the brew. It had a nice aroma of hops and the spice of barley. There was also an overall roasted smell to the beer. It tasted slightly creamy to start but the bodied bite from the barley and spices kicked in. The spicy flavor sticks around for a little while while the hops flows in at the end. The texture was a little watery - reminiscent of Guinness. It had a little body but it was a tad thin. The flow was a little sudden between flavors. I don’t think there was enough hops in this beer - hops/barley ratio was off.

Oct 31, 2009 On tap at Collins Pub. Pours a near black fading to brown with a thick cappuccino head. Aroma is basic brown sugar and caramel while the taste is much the same, with a bit of lactic thrown in. Not the best.
