Commercial Description:
Full bodied and luxuriously smooth it is the combination of traditional stout hops, an extra pinch of roast barley and crystal clear Irish water that make O’Hara’s Celtic Stout a delicious stout with just enough malt sweetness to balance that discernible roast bite.

On tap at Collins Pub. Pours a near black fading to brown with a thick cappuccino head. Aroma is basic brown sugar and caramel while the taste is much the same, with a bit of lactic thrown in. Not the best.

I didn’t realize this was a dry stout. On tap at Collin’s in Seattle. Poured smooth on nitro. Tasted very similar to Guinness, though without the slight tang from the sour beer added. A little roast-ier and with a hint of caramel.

On tap somewhere. Pours a rich black with a very creamy tan head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts, chocolate a bit of a sharp burnt character and a tang of hops.Flavor starts malty and very milky smooth. Black chocolate malt bitterness in the finish but stays smooth and crisp. Medium creamy body and very soft carbonation. Not quite a great dry stout but tasty and smooth.

Beer of smoked and tar, a beer I could not drink two of in a row, but I will drink it again, because of it´s fascinating taste.

Pours a deep almost black color that turns out to be a pretty dark ruby when held up to the light. The head is pretty thick and fluffy and leaves a very good lace. The aroma has dark chocolate with some light currant and roasty coffee notes but is all together pretty faint. The flavor is nicely roasty and bitter with some good hoppiness and some very good burnt toast notes. There are also notes of raisin and oatmeal. The palate is just mildly thin.

Draft at Bell Luna/Milky Way. Pours a black color with a thick creamy beige head. Tons of lacing leave the glass covered in a sheet of tan browness. Nose is roast malts and light creamy chocolate. Palate is thick and smooth and creamy. Flavors of roast malt notes with some dry chocolate malt balls and the creaminess here is rich.

8th August 2008. On tap at GBBF. Smooth but not thick. Dry and mildly toasted malt. Slighyly bitter finish. Okay. Unremarkable.

Black with tan head. Roasty but mild aroma. Roasty, dry and astringent. Nothing overwhelming here.

50cl bottle poured into a pint glass. Huge cinnamon coloured head which slowly subsided. Very little lacing. The aroma is of baking chocolate, bitter sweet. The mouth feel is a little oily, with a chocolaty after taste. Mmm, a very nice pint of stout.
