Musty-ish nose, slightly sweet; clear amber color; rocky head. Weak body - slight toasted malt. Late-arriving bitter, slightly chemical-like at the very end. Thinish. Impressive showing for a macro, but I'm not convinced.

One of the best danish "christmasbeers". Caramel and fruit dominates the aroma. Alcoholic aftertaste, but nothing that destroyes the overall impression.

Clear amber-red; yellowish head, creamy & dissipating. Nose with caramel, cookies and a fruity smell - rosehips? Taste much less sweet than nose promesses. Bit meaty taste (& mouthfeel). Again some faint perfumey flavour - quinces or rosehips all the same? Rather refreshing for a rather big ale. Yet a certain "fleshness" in the mouthfeel. But the finish, apart from the quince-pine flavour is empty, sweet and thin. For a megaconcern as Carlsberg-Tetley, this must be a tour-de-force. Imagine brewing a beer with actual flavour! Probably the most difficult beer in the world.

Light amber color; creamy head. Sweet malt aroma (Strong Lager). Sweet in the front, a bit oily, but much more malt than in a standard Strong Lager; a lot of character, a bold, good bitterness in the mouth. Also the palate is strong, long and partially aromatic. Thanks Jans (Ungstrup) for this pleasant macro-brew.

This is the christmas pendant to the famous Carlsberg Elephant beer! Dark copper body, very small head. Malty and hoppy nose with some alcohol. Sweet alcohol flavor with some bitternes. Somewhat alcoholic aftertaste.

Amber colour. Rich malt aroma, but a little sweet and a hint of alcohol. Pleasant bitter finish.

Bottled: Light amber coloured. Maybe a little orange. Has a huge off white head, that last long. Huge malt aroma with notes of honey. Flavour is sharp and alcaholic. Malt accents. Has a very distinct bitterness in the end - almost unpleasant. Been flirting with this beer on and off for many years, but we never seem to get engaged.

Had it once 13 years ago in Copenhagen. Very fond memory of a nice head, and smooth malt taste. Never seen it in the US. Would buy it in a heartbeat if I did.
