Draught at Copenhagen beerfestival. Creamy lightbrown excellent fully lasting head. Black colour. Powerfull malty and light hoppy aroma. Really heavy licorice notes. Moderate bitter flavor. Very long bitter finish with lovely notes of dark chocolate and licorice. Exstremely creamy palate. Fantastic beer from Carlsberg.

Draft. Pours a dark beer with a creamy and beige head. The aroma is fruity with roasted malts. Has notes of licorice and some sweetness. The flavor is coffee with licorice and sweetness. Nicely balanced. Nice stout, above average.

Black with a very firm, big and lasting light brown head. Aroma has bacon smoke, licorice, and tar. The smooth, sweetish flavour has notes of licorice, smoke and rope.

Københavnske Øldage 07. Draught. It’s pitch black and the aroma has a lot of coffee, a bit of licorice and some burnt notes. The mouthfeel is thick and oily, nice! The flavour has a lot of coffee, a hint of licorice, a light sweetness and a nicely balanced bitterness. A nice Stout, it’s a pity this was only for the festival! 2160

Draft at Ølfestival, København, 2007. A pitch black beer with a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate, and lesser notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet again with very strong notes of chocolate, as well as medium notes of roasted malt and citrus, leading to a bitter end.

Bottled at Ølfestival, Århus, 2008 under the name of Avartia Porter - now this is confusing, is it the same beer or not? if so then this rating is of a 1 year old Avartia Stout: A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt as well as light notes of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of very hard roasted malt as well as coffee, leading to a dry roasted finish. [8/4/8/4/17]

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Very black. Lots of coffee in the nose. Sweet and solidly malty with soilym somewhat syrupy mouthfeel,. Flavour is coffee, licorice, tobacco, coffee, coffee, coffee and coffee. Nothing fancy, just an old school Baltic Porter flavour. What a surprise!
