It’s pitch black and the aroma has a lot of coffee, a bit of licorice and some burnt notes. The mouthfeel is thick and oily, nice! The flavour has a lot of coffee, a hint of licorice, a light sweetness and a nicely balanced bitterness. A nice Stout, it’s a pity this was only for the festival! 2160 saxo (3640), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark

A pitch black beer with a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate, and lesser notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet again with very strong notes of chocolate, as well as medium notes of roasted malt and citrus, leading to a bitter end.
Bottled at Ølfestival, Århus, 2008 under the name of Avartia Porter - now this is confusing, is it the same beer or not? if so then this rating is of a 1 year old Avartia Stout: A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of roasted malt as well as light notes of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of very hard roasted malt as well as coffee, leading to a dry roasted finish. [8/4/8/4/17] FrankJohansen (3370), Århus-Randers Crew, Denmark
