Commercial Description:
Carls Lager has a clear red-golden colour, and is brewed with münchenermalt by bayerish tradition since 1847. Münchenermalt is roasted by higher temperature, which gives it a darker colour than regular malt. Carls Lager’s aroma indicates fine fruity and caramellish notes. In the mouth it is characterized by having a good body and low carbonation, which underlines the soft impression of the taste.

330ml bottle.
Deep red, small tight head. Sweet malty aroma, a touch corny, but fairly big. Lively carbonation, but a bit watery too. Slightly metallic palate. Nasty and astringent components too, and metallic hops. Not pleasant. some vegetal nature as it warms, and a bit sickly and sour at the corners.

Bottle. A rapidly dying off-white head upon a deep amber colored body. Low aroma level; medium sweet, roasted dark malts, whiffs of dusty hops. Taste is dryish malty, a little roast, a light sourish fruitiness and some well hidden bittering hops. Body is light plus. Malt-sweetness in the finish. Easy drinking, highly forgettable.

Bottle. Pours a nice, clear amber body with a decent off-white head leaving nice lacings. Weak aroma with caramel, roasted malt and a touch of fruits. There isn’t much flavor either, but it gets more pronounced towards the finish. Caramel, roasted malt and a hoppy fruityness, leads to a roasted finish with a little bitterness. Quite watery in the mouth. There’s a sweetish touch to the beer as well, but as the other flavors, it’s weak. A rather boring beer, easy to down, but not a beer I will buy again. (080511)
