Commercial Description:
Carls Lager has a clear red-golden colour, and is brewed with münchenermalt by bayerish tradition since 1847. Münchenermalt is roasted by higher temperature, which gives it a darker colour than regular malt. Carls Lager’s aroma indicates fine fruity and caramellish notes. In the mouth it is characterized by having a good body and low carbonation, which underlines the soft impression of the taste.

(Bottle 33 cl.) Brown colour with medium short head. Aroma a bit roasted with some hops. Flavour is quite thin but the roastiness and bitterness is good.

Bottle. Pours dark amber with an okay foamy white head. Sweet aroma with lots of malts. Flavour is equally sweet with a caramel and roasted edge - not much bitterness.

Bottle. Clear brown with rather small white head. Malts in the aroma, and Watery malt in the flavor/palate. Boring dunkel!

On draught at Café Minsteriet, Aalborg, August 2005. Mid brown colour with touches of caramel and not a lot else. Inoffensive and rather more palatable than most of the pale mass produced Danish lagers.

Bottle. Brown-reddish clear colour, with a small and quickly disappearing head. Kind of flat look to it. Aroma was malty with notes of caramel or toffee, toasted, butter, rye bread and slightly hoppy as well. Flavour is medium sweet without being too much. Light bodied, with a slightly watery texture to it. Carbonation is flat. Very sweet finish with some toasted and caramel like notes to it. Apart of the watery texture this was an ok experience.
