Commercial Description:
Carls Lager has a clear red-golden colour, and is brewed with münchenermalt by bayerish tradition since 1847. Münchenermalt is roasted by higher temperature, which gives it a darker colour than regular malt. Carls Lager’s aroma indicates fine fruity and caramellish notes. In the mouth it is characterized by having a good body and low carbonation, which underlines the soft impression of the taste.

(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "Gamle Carlsberg". Clear, darkish brown with a small head. Malty, lightly sweet aroma. Very malt accentuated body, lovely roasted malt, but more dry and soft than sweet. Discret - yet present - bitterness. In a pub with only Carlsberg this is always my preference. 181201

Fizzy and barely passable. A disappointment, frankly. I’d hoped for more. Drinking Carlsberg beer in Denmark was a stupid thing to do and I’ll not do it again.

Beutyfull red/copper colour, with a nice head. Sweet aroma. Taste fresh with hints of caramel, not bad but there are absolutely nothing speciel with this beer, a common lager.

Bottle. Nice clear copper colour with an off-white head. Slightly sour aroma. Hops and malt. Notes of burnt caramel. Flavour is malty with a hoppy bitterness. Soft palate.

Brown colour with a beige head. Sweet malty aroma with notes of dried fruit. Malty flavour with a bit bitterness in the end.

Reddish / brown colour with small head. Aroma is malty with some sweetness. Flavor has some fruit. Overall a boring experience.

Nice colour, attractive look, but very bitter. It is perfect for cooking, though, it gives a stew just the right bitterness. I’d rather "eat" this beer than drink it really !

Nice color, very good taste. Pretty bitter, but in a very gently and 'withdrawing' way, that makes this beer one of my favourites from the danish standard selection. Has an interesting history too. Easy to drink, but is not boring.
