Commercial Description:
Carls Lager has a clear red-golden colour, and is brewed with münchenermalt by bayerish tradition since 1847. Münchenermalt is roasted by higher temperature, which gives it a darker colour than regular malt. Carls Lager’s aroma indicates fine fruity and caramellish notes. In the mouth it is characterized by having a good body and low carbonation, which underlines the soft impression of the taste.

A beutiful amber beer with a very nice aroma of sweet caramel. It has a very good balance between the sweetness of the malt and the bitternes of the hops. A very nice beer.

(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "Gamle Carlsberg". Clear, darkish brown with a small head. Malty, lightly sweet aroma. Very malt accentuated body, lovely roasted malt, but more dry and soft than sweet. Discret - yet present - bitterness. In a pub with only Carlsberg this is always my preference. 181201

33 cL bottle (Carls lager, had Gamle Carlsberg ages ago). Pours amber/brown with light brown/off-white head. Caramel and slight rye-like grain aroma. Soft caramel sweetness very nicely levelled off into a mild finish with a minor bitterness.

Bottle 33cl. @ home.
Clear medium red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, molasses, caramel. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20090131]

Bottle. Clear, dark brown colour. Small light brown head. Slightly more malty than a pils. A bit thin, but I guess there is a tiny hint of roasted malt.
