Taste is too roast/burned to my liking. Quite bitter aftertaste. Worst porter i have tasted so far KnutAlbert (3217), Oslo, Norway
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2005 Updated: Mar 23, 2006The head reminds me of milk chocolate, and the first sip brings aromas of dark toast. Pitch black as a porter should be. Both sweetness and bitterness in the brew, and a fruity taste - cherries play along with the roasted, almost burned malt. Liquorize it says on the label. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 19, 2005 Chocolate, vanilla, soy and some roast in the fairly sweet aroma. Opaque black body with a generous tan head that recedes to ring. Thick, rich, velvety chocolate flavour with vanilla and nutty, roasty tones. Medium-light, dry body with fair carbonation. Bottle (?) sampled in Copenhagen. GarethYoung (1110), Glasgow, Scotland

The aroma has some roasted coffee, a little bitter dark chocolate and something strange which smells like nettles. body is a little thin and has a slightly dry bitter finish. Probably too old, but it was interesting. Magicdave6 (5558), London, Greater London, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 17, 2005 No#10. (1984). Its all about vintages at the moment i seem to be rating by year rather than beer. Aroma is grassy. Taste seems a bit light, however warms to a light sweet coffee, then follows on to grassy apples. Intresting the way the aging changes this. FrankJohansen (3370), Århus-Randers Crew, Denmark

Aroma of lacarice and chocolate and malt. The flavor is dominated by malt and chocolate. Nice full body and a bitter aftertaste. Great beer. mutant (854), Melbourne, Australia
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 14, 2005 Bottle in Tivoli. Very black with a light brown head. Smoky, slightly offputting aroma. Taste is only slightly malty, then you are hit with a strong burned bitterness Persistent finish without a trace of alcohol. chriso (4851), London, Greater London, England
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 8, 2005 Draught at Carlsens Kvarter, Odense. Very dark, almost black colour. Served too cold to get much aroma. Heavily phenolic and medicinal on the palate. Some oily, smoky tar too. Just too medicinal. Sigmund and I figured there must have been something wrong with this. I have a bottle that I brought back so I’ll re-rate when I get round to drinking it.
