Pours a clear dark brown colored body under a fine bubbled light brown head that faded to a thin film. Aroma is lightly chocolaty but there’s also a strong corn/vegetal scent as well. A little licorice. The flavor is quite harsh with alot of ashy burnt malt notes. More corn flavor than anything. Finishes with some hot alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate soft carbonation. Fairly thin texture up front but finishes with a slight stickiness. This one just didn’t do it for me. Not very Baltic Porter like at all. It comes off as very cheaply made. faroeviking (6127), BjórtjóðveldiðBjórheimBjórsins, Faroe Islands

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 4, 2006 Bottle. Truly black colour with a sparkling look, especially when pored. Initial appearance of head was huge off-white coloured, which medium lasted. Left some excellent lacing on the glass. Aroma was very chocolate, roasted, smoked, coffee, liquorish, burned candies like. Maybe some dark bread as well. Flavour is very much burned candies sweet. Medium to full bodied. Burned candies and coffee like finish. Reasonable Baltic Porter even the brewery clams it is an Imperial Stout. Looking forward to Carlsberg’s top Baltic Porter the Wiibroe Porter, that is just reappearing on the marked her in Denmark. rauchbier (3004), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2006 Black/dark red. Medium tan head. Soft mouthfeel. Medium soft-bubble carbonation. The initial acidity is nowhere near overbearing, and is quickly squelched by the moderately smokey and woody flavors. The finish is gorgeous and precise, boasting notes of burnt sugar, and a sublime interplay of molasses and licorice. yngwie (5024), Kristiansand, Norway

Bottle, quite fresh. A clear, reddish brown beer with a beige head. Malty, sweetish nose with roastyness, coffee and chocolate. Chocolate, coffee, roasted and burnt malt, sweetness, some alcohol and a little hoppy bitterness in the mouth. Medium to full body. A little warming feeling as well. Coffee and chocolate finish, with some alcohol. Still a nice one. (080509) oh6gdx (9104), Vasa, Finland
