A pitch black porter with an OK orange colored head - that vanishes a bit too fast. It has the aroma of smoked malt with hints of oak. It has a nice sweetnes and a very round taste of smoked malt that finishes of with a slight bitterness that lingers on the tongue. Definatly a good beer - great as a night cap.

(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "Gl. Carlsberg Porter". Pitch black beer with a brownish head. Incredibly spicy nose with lots of smoke. Very, very full-bodied with burned malts and an underlying sweetness. Sharp bitterness - both from malts and hops. A very solid brew to be enjoyed in small quantities. 020901

33 cL bottle (as Carls porter). Pours black with a lasting a light brown head. Roasted, cane sugar and dry aroma. Sweet cane suar flavour with a following roasted malt flavour. Goes slight dry and bitter into the finish. Great classic, but it gets cloying quite quickly.

Bottle. Black colour, big stable brown head. Sweet liquorice flavour with a nice alcohol warmth. Aftertaste is nice and bitter, but a bit short. Thick mouthfeel.

Bottle from 1994. Pitch black colour, not much head. Aroma is mild roast, smoke, malts, chocolate and dark fruit. Flavour is plum, licorace and very smooth. Flavour has some roasted notes in it. A bit wineous. Has aged very well.

Very deep burgundy colour, a raisiny, malty nose with lots of alcohol, and a sturdy, warming body with lots of dark malt and burnt raisin, and a sweet, sugary edge in the finish.
