pilsnerrogge (1589), Finspång, Sweden Sep 5, 2003 Color: black. Rich, brown head. Black currant aroma. Full-bodied, sweet and warming. Long bitter finish. Nice one.
Pinball (423), Allerød, Denmark Aug 26, 2008 great aroma, but a little faint. looks very nice, dark brown, light-brown head. Mild flavor, very well balanced, however most flavours quickly ends with leaves a strong trail of roasted stuff. Overall a decent porter, more so when you consider its low price. Mogwai (176), Askeby, Denmark Aug 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with beige short-lasting head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, burnt malt. Mouthfeel is very good and a little thick. Flavor is just like aroma of coffee, syrup, caramel, chocolate, malt and hops. Very good Quack-Duck (1755), Bodensee, Germany Aug 13, 2008 bottle, traded with jeverszeuge. Very dark brown colour, small but creamy beige head. Complex aroma of malt, roasetd malt and caramel. Very smooth mouthfeel, well-balanced flavours of roasetd malt, caramel, toffee and honey. Just the right sweetness, well rounded with a good portion of aromatic hops. A very nice beer. austone (332), Turku; Pori, Finland Jul 27, 2008 Dark opaque brown, small and fizzy brown head. Sweet syrupy nose, some coffee and alcohol. Extremely alcoholic flavor, little burned malts, dry coffee and a bit vinous finish. Watery, hollow palate. I just wonder how they can make the 7,8% ABV shine out this way. I guess you have to really use malts to make a good impy. Syrup, water and yeast just don’t go that far. Rune (1653), Tromsø, Norway Jun 8, 2008 330ml bottle at The Carlsberg Visitors Centre, Copenhagen. Ink-black body under a beige, two-finger head. Rather weak in aroma with hints of dark malts. Smoky, dark malts in flavour supported by bittersweet liquorice. A decent porter, I would say (shared with Finn Arvid, 29.05.2008).
