Bottled
High carbonated and a tone of floral hops. Malt is very abscent - some fruits from the yeast Maria (6056), Thisted, Denmark Dec 11, 2007 A golden, rather full-bodier beer, that is too demanding in it’s sweetness. The bitterness is very modest, and it lacks personality. BeerBiker (1384), Odense, Denmark Apr 9, 2007 [Sampled in 2004 in the summerhouse of Erik near Thorsminde.]
I’ll just say Congratulations and give them instead the winnerbeer from Grauballe instead of this consume-liquid from Valby. Luckily it is retired! yespr (11644), Copenhagen O, Denmark Feb 19, 2007 33 cL bottle. Pours pale yellow with HUGE white head. Clearly pilsener and grass aroma. Thin taste of grass (tasmanian hops it seems) and mild bitterness. One can clearly tell that this is a Carlsberg from the yeast notes. Overall this is just thin. I assume they aimed at a light champagne like beer and failed - sadly, last bottle I have of this will be saved wtih together with beers from the beer elections in 1997 and 2003: beers not to be drunk. faroeviking (6024), Republica Vikingo de las, Faroe Islands Jan 2, 2007 Crown Wedding Beer. Yellow colour with short fizzy head. Sweet aroma with some hoppiness. Bitter sweet malty flavour. Quite fizzy mouthfeel. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Oct 4, 2006 Bottle. (Notes from 2005) Pale golden color with a small head. Light hoppy aroma and some sweetness. Smooth flavour of malt and hops with a fruity finish.
flemmingwillum (226), København S, Denmark Aug 20, 2006 Notes from 2004: When Carlsberg Crown was introduced I had pretty big expectations, and I think I have imagined a stout-like beer. But what I got was a watery beer (despite it’s 6,5% alc.) with taste from flowers and a very vague bitter hopping in the finish. Almost no aftertaste. A lot like Harboe Guldøl, (but less metallic), just more expensive. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark Jan 25, 2006 33 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. This one from my cellar (exp. date 04-11-28). Pale golden colour with a weak head. Light hoppy aroma with some sweetness. Nice smooth flavour of malt and hops in a pleasant balance. Ends up with a fruity finish.
