I´m not talking about the thin head or the pale color; all carlsberg products seems to suffer from that. No, it´s actually the taste, wich is good. Starts with a lash of Co2 , then a quiet flow and a fresh ending. AND THEN; a grassy hoping in the aftertaste; great. As for the wedding it´s made for.......who cares? High carbonation hiding the ABV. Sweetish floral flavour. Oily palate. Overall a sweet lager without much flavour. For some reason in Carlsberg terminology the frase champagne like equals high carbonation killing what ever taste there ever was in the brew. Thats not what beer is about. Thats not what champagne is about either. Eventhough this beer is not bad - its just not much of a beer. larsniclas (3391), Gothenburg, Sweden

Golden with a whita, airy head.
A cereal aroma with faint notes of both malt and hop.
Rather fresh flavour with some maltiness and late bitterness. ChristianScheffel (4679), Odense, Denmark

Light yellow with a nice head and a refreshing hops nose. The flavour is indeed weak, but it’s crisp. I would use a Chimay White for a wedding, but I don’t really think it’s as bad as said below. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 4, 2004 MGC with smallish white head. Slightly stale dried flower hops with a hint of candy sugar and melon like fruitiness in the aroma. Thin watery body. Flavours are supermild with a hint of light dry white fruitness. Floral character comes through mostly at the end.

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 4, 2004 Very blond beer with a small head. Clear hop aroma. The taste is a bit thin with an interesting light malty finish. Engelsmann (653), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Mar 29, 2004 Pale gold, almost yellow in colour. Slightly sweetish taste that almost drown in the sharpness from the the very heavy carbonation. Sigmund (2301), Hafrsfjord, Norway

Carlsberg’s attempt to make a beer with champagne-like qualities ... hmmm - I’m not a big fan of real champagne (price considered), but I’d definitely prefer real champagne for a celebration, if Carlsberg Crown were the best beer on offer. Fruity but not very strong aroma, bubbly/fizzy fruity flavour, not offensive but far from interesting. Alcohol is well hidden (behind what??). I’m not a monarchist, but I think the happy couple deserved something better than this.
