clean red color, whispy head, malty aroma, good hop flavor that warms to a tartness then a bitterness for an aftertaste

Nice aroma of hops and toasted malt with caramel, which is even more profound in the flavour along with a nice soft fruitiness. Good mouthfeel. The aftertaste is long lasting and just so pleasant. Brewed in Canada on licence by permission from Carlsberg. Great amber beer. Why is this tasty beer not brewed in Denmark? Radek Kliber (3989), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 8, 2004 Hazy amber red color with a small but good head. Funky slightly malty aroma with a hint of cardboard. Flavour is slightly sweet with a touch of nutty hops and an odd lingering aftertaste. Decent palate for a macro. Was actually halfway enjoyable even if I didn’t really pull out anything much to write about. CapFlu (3492), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

No mistaking this for anything other than Calrsberg, it just has that taste, although I must say the red bodied appearance looks fantastic. A slightly more malty taste, as you would expect in the colour, but it is still rather thin and not all that exciting.
