beercamel (83), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 6, 2009 This beer is great for the alchohol content and being that its a malt beverage. The smell is skunky and the taste is a bit weak other than sugar malts. sound67 (157), Offenbach, Germany Oct 15, 2009 500ml can, silver color with elephant logo. Pours a slightly reddish golden yellow, with medium head, little lacing. Medium carbonation, boozy mouth feel due to the high alcoholic volume. Strongly bitter taste of roasted malt, growing even stronger as you keep drinking. Grainy taste, despite alcoholic head note throughout. Dry finish, lingering bitter after taste. If you like a certain grainy bitterness, and if you can accept the alcoholic note to be so upfront, then this is your strong beer. If you like your ale a little smoother, a little sweeter, a little less "brusque", then steer clear of Elephant beer. ;=) swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Oct 14, 2009 Bottle @ Allen St Hardware. Pale lager colored pour. Little aroma to speak of. Some skunkiness. Taste is pretty bland, grassy bitterness, malt sweetness. Blah Nisse666 (313), Göteborg, Sweden Oct 12, 2009 Can/Bottle, this must be one of the most horrible beverages in the world. No aroma and not a happy apperance. But most of all the flavor, tastes like they have added pure alkohol to a Carlsberg 3,5%! USCBeerMan (103), Columbia, South Carolina, USA Oct 9, 2009 Bottle, poured gold with a medium white head. The aroma is grain with alcohol, herbal and piney hops. jbye4334 (652), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 24, 2009 Clear light orange color. Small white head. Apple aroma. Malt, alcohol and apple flavors. Avg duration. Smooth finish with light bitterness. Slick/thin texture. Soft carbonation. Spare lacing. Dervock (178), Emu plains, Australia Sep 14, 2009 Bottle - Pours pale yellow with a skimming of bubbles for a head. Sweet aroma with hops and ight malt. Flavour starts off sweet then the alcohol hits followed by grainy malt and a lingering dry finish. The alcohol hit is a bit harsh and masks any other flavours. DeanF (285), Paris, France Aug 31, 2009 Has some fruity sweetness in the aroma as well as lots and lots of alcohol. It’s not a bad fragrance however, and is definitely inviting. Looks pretty good too, with a soft gold colour and head that slow dissipates. Not too fast and not too slow, and little bubbles coming up at a steady pace. The taste is another thing, though: taste like wet socks, skunky hops, lots of alcohol. Has a semi-dry finish with a hint of yuck. Worth the extra alcohol kick if you can stand the taste, but this is by no means a good example of a strong beer.
