Commercial Description:
Pasteurised strong lager.
First brewed in 1959. Sold in a 330ml bottle in 1989 as "the beer you will never forget". In May 1996 Elephant Beer was repackaged into an emerald green 275ml bottle.
UK version is brewed at the Carlsberg Northampton brewery.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Szerintem túlzottan uralkodik benne az alkohol és elég kevés más íze van.Hol a komló és a maláta?Meg kéne tanulni a belgáktól erős jó ízű söröket főzni!

Can. Poured a clear yellow color with a fizzy white head that diminished quickly. Aroma is mostly pale malt and a bit of alcohol. Flavor consists of pale malt with slight hints of boiled vegetables that finishes bitter with a strong alcohol presence for 7.2%. Pretty thin and fizzy on the palate. Does seem like more of a malt liquor than a European Strong Lager, I would put in the same league as a Mickeys or the like.

Bottle poured into lager glass- poured transparent golden yellow, mild carbonation, white head said hello- then goodbye. Aroma of malt, yeast, and hops. Hits the mouth with a thin body, weak malt and hops are detectable but far from overpowering, bit of an alcohol finish. It reminds me more of a malt liquor than a ESL, if the malt was more powerful, then it would fit into it’s category.

From a 330 ml bottle - 20715711. Pours a rather golden tone. Not much head. I can notice a potent aroma of malts. Kind of creamy smooth in the mouth. Not swett but not bitter. Definitely a unique flavor. The aroma and tastes of malts is overwhelming. I almost notice something like brown sugar. This is better than the US Carlsberg Lager.

Bottle. Pour not so much of an amber as it is a clouded gold small white head. Aroma is sweet and malty but there is a smell of alcohol as well. Taste is ok... dry, sweet, slight taste of the malt you smell, and the taste of alcohol. It goes down easy enough but I won’t be running out to get more.

Not too bad has a good bit of kick. Not too bad easy to drink but isn’t as good as Carlsberg, wouldn’t buy again.
