Commercial Description:
Pasteurised strong lager.
First brewed in 1959. Sold in a 330ml bottle in 1989 as "the beer you will never forget". In May 1996 Elephant Beer was repackaged into an emerald green 275ml bottle.
UK version is brewed at the Carlsberg Northampton brewery.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

pour from a can? sampled at a party. I just hate canned beer. alcoholic tatse with a metallic finish. maybe the bottle is better, but after reading all the flaming here I doubt it.

330 ml bottle - Clear pale gold. Thin white head. Thin to medium body. Medium carbonation. Leaves the mouth feeling a bit sticky, Too sweet, malty with a bit of alcohol showing through and a lightly bitter, metallic finish. Can’t say I particularly enjoyed it.

Bottle. Clear pale amber with a small white head. Fair lacing. Thin bodied with average/high carbonation. Sweet at first, with a crisp dry, mildly bitter finish and also with a slight alcohol flavour coming through.

Canned 33cl. It pours a yellow beer with a big rocky head that remains for quite a while. The aroma is of hops, malt and metal with some alcohol coming through. The taste isn’t sweet at all. Metallic, hoppy with light malt and alcohol... All in all not a pronounced flavor. Some corn to the tase. The finish is metallic and rather hoppy.

This godawful porridge has been rated by my fellow "experts" as being twice as good as bud light. I’m drinking it right now. It tastes like they put Mickeys in a can with 40 pennies at the bottom and somone froze the beer, then got it really, really hot, then repeated the process 40 times and served. I did talk to The Penguin after I drank it, so its not ALL bad.

11.2 oz bottle. Oooh the Elephant. This beer is not bad for a malt liquor...but it is still a malt liquor.

bottle. This was my first beer when in Montreal when I was 18. Thats the only reason I tried it again. I won’t be doing that again. light copper pour with almost no head. malty light aroma. not bad for a malt liquor but overall just poor. Thank god the discrete sweetness was tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste or I might of just threw it up everywhere.

On tap, in Paris, at Quartier Latin. Golden coloration, with a white head. Watery and a little bitter. Boring...
