Commercial Description:
Pasteurised strong lager.
First brewed in 1959. Sold in a 330ml bottle in 1989 as "the beer you will never forget". In May 1996 Elephant Beer was repackaged into an emerald green 275ml bottle.
UK version is brewed at the Carlsberg Northampton brewery.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Bottled. Pale yellow pour with a slight haziness and impressively rocky snow-white froth. Fingers of lace. Wet straw and hop grassiness. Almost a sniff of mandarin. Slightly syrupy malt with a crisp finishing bitterness. Unexpectedly refreshing by the 275ml measure. Would probably be singing its praises if it was Belgian. Sort of tastes like a sup of your dad’s pint did when you were 7 years old. Bitter, metallic and booze-sodden. You know you shouldn’t like it, but you can’t help youself.

Can. Strong hoppy smell, medium sour and sweet. Big white head and yellow body. Thick flavor, long lasting, no carbonation.

Canned. Yellow with a brief, white head. A bit spicy but with a pungent alcoholic flavour.

0,33 Bottle. Golden with white head wich disapeared quickly. Strong aroma wich I didn’t like really. There was also something wrong with flavour. Sweet. After all it was interesting cause it’s quite different from what i am used to. Still not what I would like to taste once more.

Had in BVI. Pours a golden lager with a med white head. Has a large malt flavor. Has hints of malts, and sweet hops. Alcohol is perfectly balanced with a small bitter aftertaste.
