Commercial Description:
Pasteurised strong lager.
First brewed in 1959. Sold in a 330ml bottle in 1989 as "the beer you will never forget". In May 1996 Elephant Beer was repackaged into an emerald green 275ml bottle.
UK version is brewed at the Carlsberg Northampton brewery.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Had in BVI. Pours a golden lager with a med white head. Has a large malt flavor. Has hints of malts, and sweet hops. Alcohol is perfectly balanced with a small bitter aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle. I wasn’t expecting much with this, but it is better than I expected, and to me, conisiderably better than its rating would suggest. Poured in a Pilsner glass, there was a large foamy head that actually lasted quite well and left some pretty good lace over a ever so slightly hazy gold liquid. Light sweet biscuity aroma, with little evidence of any hops. The body is light, but not watery, and is complimented by a lively effervescence. there is enough hop bitterness to balance out the light malty sweetness for a finish that is dry enough to quench the thirst.

bottle - Pours clear yellow with a thin head and a sweet malt and corn aroma. The very sweet flavor seems to have corn adjuncts. The body is thin to medium and the carbonation fairly light. The sweet finish is mildly warming thanks to the higher abv. Meh.

(in can, 33 cl.). Clear, golden beer. Not much aroma, and the taste is like a common lager, some more hops, and a alcohol taste, little. There is no much that to say of this beer. It is a flat beer.
