Commercial Description:
Pasteurised strong lager.
First brewed in 1959. Sold in a 330ml bottle in 1989 as "the beer you will never forget". In May 1996 Elephant Beer was repackaged into an emerald green 275ml bottle.
UK version is brewed at the Carlsberg Northampton brewery.
Carlsberg Elephant Beer is an amber-coloured beer with big intensity in its aroma, and with a distinct maltyness. There is notes of honey in the aroma. The palate of Carlsberg Elephant shows a good balance between a good body from the alcohol, and a discrete sweetness which is tamed by the sophisticated bitterness of the aftertaste.

Bottle. Smells like ginger ale. Weak appearnace and poor flavor with a hint of alcohol. Worth the $1 I paid for it.

I found this not to bad and even ended up sessioning it it in some mosher club in Dundee insted of newcastle brown, which is generally my beer of choice over shite lager when dancing my tits off. Aroma is sweet toffee malts quite fruity also. Taste gives again sweet fruityness but some sort of hops balance it out.

Pale yellow with a big white head. Little to no aroma. Flavor is very little hop, mild malts, a bit on the bitter side. Better than the non-elephant version of carlsberg.

A rusty golden color with a small white head. The taste of the beer was dominated by alcohol, which had a rough, grainy body. The beer was fairly bitter, with some sweet flavors mixed in. Fizzy on the palate and with moderate carbonation. The aroma was almost overpowering.

Clear, slightly darker golden with a small white head. Sweet malt and light alcohol in the aroma. Alcoholic dominated body, with a reasonable bittereness. Sweet malt flavours. A fairly winey finish rounds of a pretty bad beer.

(33 cl bottle brought home from Denmark) Clear golden color, white head. Malty grainy scent. Rather thin body. Light malty but mostly sweet alcohol taste. Sweet aftertaste. Too high alcohol and too thin body. Needs more caramel malts and more hops, and probably another yeast...
